Antioch Biblical Seminary & College stands as a distinguished monument to divine providence, visionary leadership, and the Church’s enduring commitment to theological education. Its roots trace back to 1997 with the establishment of Asia Pacific Mission–India (APM–India) under the pioneering leadership of Dr. Abraham Christdhas. Founded with the mission of nurturing Christian leaders and advancing theological scholarship, the institution began its journey in modest rented facilities in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Despite limited resources, it was sustained by a spirit of faith, sacrifice, and missionary dedication, laying a strong foundation for what would become a significant center of ministerial formation.
A transformative chapter unfolded in 2001 through the providential partnership of Rev. Dr. Bae Jin Gi and the South Korean church community. Under his patronage, the institution was reorganized and formally adopted the name Antioch Biblical Seminary & College, reflecting an expanded vision for biblical scholarship and ministerial excellence. The ensuing years witnessed remarkable consolidation and growth, culminating in a landmark achievement in 2008 when the generous members of Pohang Assemblies of God Church enabled the acquisition of five acres of land near Pondicherry University. This strategic development gave rise to a fully residential theological training center, fostering an integrated environment for academic rigor, spiritual formation, and communal life, while addressing a significant need for theological education in the region.
Following more than a decade of fruitful international collaboration, Antioch entered a new era in 2014 through its affiliation with the Tamil District Council of the South India Assemblies of God (SIAG). Guided by the leadership of Rev. Dr. Abraham Thomas, the Seminary received steadfast ecclesiastical support that strengthened its institutional stability and broadened its ministry impact. Today, Antioch Biblical Seminary & College continues to flourish as a centre for Christ-centered leadership development, drawing strength from its rich heritage of global partnership and local church stewardship. Its history is far more than an account of organizational progress; it is an inspiring narrative of resilience, sacrificial partnership, and an unwavering pursuit of theological excellence in service of God's Kingdom...
